Introduction

This was the first ID I ever ordered from OIS and my first experience with the process in general. This order was done in early March 2018 so I am a few months behind and I know that OIS has changed slightly since then, particularly in regards to cost and shipping.

Communication: 9/10

The CS is pretty quick when replying to emails and responding to PMs. You can also sometimes catch OIS in the chat for direct contact.

Cost: 7/10

This was ordered with the old group rates where you could order 7+ and get 50% off regardless of whether the states were the same or not. So this was only $50 and that’s not a bad price for the quality of the ID.

Shipping: 7/10

They are shipping straight from China so it took about 3 weeks. Not bad, not great, just relatively average.

signature: 8/10

The signature looks to be a bit too big and too thick. Though I give them props as I sent in a pretty bad signature to begin with.

template: 9/10

The biggest issue I have with the temp is the color matching. I will admit that these issues are pretty nit-picky but I’m just trying to be thorough. The orange used for the whale and circular “flower” design; the purple of the whale and cursive a long the bottom; and the guilloche lines and flower on the back all could use a bit of work. Another issue is that the blue elements should be less opaque. Lastly, the informational text comes down too far.

photoshop: 8/10

The photoshop is not bad, nor great. Ear shadows look fine and look quite good. My biggest issue is that the exposure of the photo seems a bit too much even though the photo I sent was at a good exposure. With that being said it doesn’t really look too off unless you put it side by side with another ID.

holograms/OVI: 9/10

Holo look great, though it seems like it should maybe be a bit shinier so it stands out a bit more. Though take that with a grain of salt as I’ve never seen an nCT in person, my comment is just a guess.

uv: 8/10

The UV is pretty good, the front design is vibrant and clean and the back portrait is detailed. The only issue is that the the front UV details aren’t lined up perfectly so it looks a little odd but not terrible.

scanning: 8/10

Has been scanned at a liquor store and everything was perfect. It also shows up as real on BCS.

conclusion: 8/10

Although there are some template issues, this is a great ID for use anywhere, but especially on the east coast. Having used this in both Philly and Boston numerous times and having had it examined in great detail (because the photo I sent looks a bit weird so people have been suspicious) I can say that it has served me very well. While cost can be high if you’re not in a group, it’s a steal if you have a decent sized group.
