Introduction

Purchased OIS's nCA v2 for use instate. Comes with a duplicate. Compared with O21 oCA physical, U21 oCA physical, and O21 nCA scans from Ramses (thanks big dog). Will be getting a physical O21 nCA to compare with in a few months as well. Spent a lot of time researching for this review, so I hope it's helpful.

Communication: 9/10

OIS responds quick to PMs and Wickr messages. His CS hasn't been responding to my emails however.

Cost: 8/10

$120 isn't cheap, but OIS's Ids generally are high quality and worth the money.

Shipping: 7/10

OIS ships international and thus the ID has to go through U.S. customs. Ordered on 10/23. Received on 11/21. A little bit over 4 weeks, but there were a few holidays within the timeframe so not too too bad.

signature: 8/10

The signature is too light, matter of fact all the raised text on the ID is. The ID's raised text is more of a dark brown color than black. The raised text itself is quality though. It won't be scratched off.

Pictures:

template: 7/10

The front template is nearly great. On one of my copies, the template area composed of DOB, Address, Name, etc is angled up a bit. The other copy is pretty much 180 degrees. This is barely noticeable. The back template is tilted to the right on both ids. You can see this by looking at the pdf417 code. The entire back template also needs to be moved up a bit. You can see this by looking at the raised bday. It's too low. The raised bday over the picture on the front is also tilted to the right.

photoshop: 5/10

This is the biggest issue with the ID. If he gets the pic fixed up, this ID will be damn near ISP. The picture needs to be zoomed in more. Too much of my shoulders are showing and my head is too small. The main issue though is the background color. It's very divergent from any CA ID I've ever seen. Instead of the soft turqoiuse color used by the DMV, OIS has a similar sky blue that REALLY stands out under a flashlight. This seems like such an easy fix, but maybe it's a printer issue.

holograms/OVI: 10/10

The OVI is fantastic. The state seal shows just the right amount at all angles. The "DMV" also only shows at the correct angles. The seal is slightly more over the pic on one of my copies, but this is inconsequential. Perforation on the state and bear are perfect. Holes are tight and well placed.

uv: 9/10

Tested under 395nm UV light, pics attached. The UV lines look neat and crisp. The only issue I see is the UV photo doesn't have the same amount of headspace as the main photo. The UV photo is more zoomed in (a quality I wish the main photo had).

scanning: 8/10

Scans on autistic BCS and pdf417. Pics attached.

conclusion: 7/10

The ID is made of high quality teslin and sounds just like a legit copy when dropped. It also bends very well. OIS's stealth is top notch as well. This ID would pass almost anywhere OOS. It could easily be a 8.5 or 9 and ISP if the damn background was the right color. Frustrating. Hopefully it gets fixed in v3 and this ID realizes its full potential.
